Allen Signs - Signmakers & Engravers

Who are we?

Welcome to Allen Signs Website.

We are an established family business who pride ourselves on providing the highest quality product and excellent service.

We’ve been in business since 1965 and although we’ve gone through many changes during this time, the ideals that started us off still remain the foundation of what we do today. We continue to grow and develop to meet customer needs and exceed expectations, always offering the best service in sign making and vehicle livery.

We have been members of the British Sign Association since its formation and we are an Investor in People. We have held ISO9001:2000 and its predecessor bs5750 for almost 15 years. In general most business environmental issues are becoming more of a concern and we are currently implementing schemes to recycle our waste products which is segregated for recycling.

So who do we do it for?

The list of current clients is extensive and ranges from schools and colleges, civil engineers, building contractors, plumbers, accountants, solicitors, hauliers, farmers and hairdressers. We work locally for anyone who needs a unique and complete sign solution, here’s a flavour of some of our more recent projects.

We work closely with graphic designers providing them with product suggestions and advice on a diverse range of projects to help find a signage solution.

We have provided way finding and building identification signage to a further education college. We prepared an audit of the existing signs proposed changes and then provided working samples before going into production. The finished signs were then completed on a tight time schedule to enable them to be in place in time for a new intake of students. When a new performing arts centre was created we provided a comprehensive set of internal signs and a large illuminated external sign which used the latest LED technology

One of our longest customers has a large fleet of heavy plant vehicles, this sees us letter a wide range of equipment from small mini excavators to on site crushers, long reach excavators and tippers and a range of mobile cranes. Each item is surveyed and detailed drawings provided before livery is applied.

A large regional solicitor recently rebranded and we were called upon to interpret the new design into a range of signage window graphics and external plates. We dealt with all planning matters and successfully implemented the new identity to their offices.

We were recently called upon to provide a wrap for three mobile posh loos for a major brand through a local hire company. We liaised with the marketing agency in London, their designer and ultimately our client to complete this project in under a week in time for a product launch.

A client, having acquired an environmentally friendly delivery vehicle, tasked us with providing a design that would shout the new vehicle's credentials far and wide. Our customer had some initial thoughts which we then developed into a colourful vehicle wrap that gets noticed far an wide.
