No entry signs can be both external signs or internal signs, and are mostly used to ensure people do not enter areas that they are not authorised to enter.
This may be for safety reasons, or it could be for confidentiality reasons.
They are particularly important in manufacturing and warehousing businesses, as they can often be part of a whole series of health and safety signage, designed to keep people safe from potentially hazardous areas.
The signs themselves can vary from simple "no entry" wording, through to a visual display warning people not to enter a particular part of a building without safety equipment such as goggles or hard hats.
