Lincoln College approached Allen Signs as part of a project they had been working on to create a more exciting learning environment for students.
The brief from the college was to improve the appearance of the hallways and stairwells so that they looked less cluttered and more inviting. The college created a blank canvas by stripping all the existing posters and signage off the walls and condensing all the information into a few key messages.
The college’s graphic designer Sean Matthews created a series of wayfinding signs, infographics, interactive notice boards and internal wall graphics incorporating images and inspirational quotes from famous people including Winston Churchill and Jessica Ennis. Sean also included stats on careers and employability highlighting the job opportunities available and demonstrating the achievements of recent college graduates to help current students feel more motivated.
Our role was to produce and install over 1,000 metres of print, 50 8ft x 4ft 3D panels and 20 sign written mirrors across the campus over a four-week period which was no mean feat! Despite the tight timescales we managed to complete the job on time thanks to a combined effort from our production, installation and account management teams. We also did most of the installation work during the holiday period, when the students weren’t there, to avoid any unnecessary disruption.
We’re pleased to report that Sean and the team at Lincoln College are delighted with the results and the feedback from students, staff and visitors has been really positive. This is just one of a number of successful projects we have completed in the education sector. To find out more click here
