New Investment Puts Allen Signs at the Cutting Edge

22 November 2017

Following our investment in a new EFI H1625 LED flatbed printer at the start of the year, we’ve made a further investment of £90,000 in another new machine as part of our ambitious strategy for growth.

The Protek Unico TT digital cutter and router is the latest addition to our print and production facility based at our premises in North Hykeham.

Manufactured in Italy, it is unique because it is a print-finishing digital cutter and production router in one. It is capable of powering its way through range of rigid materials including cardboard, plywood and even metal, as well engraving into plastics and metals.

When we decided to take the plunge back in February and install the flatbed printer we always knew it would only form part of the story and that the investment would only really pay off if we added a more up-to-date digital cutter.

The Protek Unico TT really impressed the team here at Allen Signs as it can cut extremely clean edges on nearly every material we’ve thrown at it, even giving an almost flame polished edge to acrylics. It also has two knife bays and a camera meaning anything we print can be seamlessly contour cut or creased if necessary.

As a business, we are committed to investing in new technology as well as the training and development of our staff so we can continue to improve the range and quality of our products and services.

Our investment has already paid off as we’re now entering new markets and doing more exhibition and branding work which we hope to continue to build on. When clients approach us, we can now specify a wider range of materials and create more innovative and eye-catching designs.

Previously there were certain jobs which we couldn’t compete on price-wise but now we’re able to be much more cost-effective.
